In which our galactic foodtruck starts feeling like a viable business.

A whole lot of new events show up, with folks hitting up the ole' Butt truck for all the salt we could ever acquire, catering a party, and shedding delicious vegetables in our fridge. Recipes are mastered, profits increase dramatically thanks to the Hunger Ray, and a final employee is hired. There are enough events ongoing to keep the interplanetary jumps from getting stale, and I finally realize that I can harvest multiple batches of ingredients from planets instead of grabbing a potato and trying to sell it to 50 customers.

This upcoming Friday will be the game's conclusion for sure!

Then a few more other entries submitted to the DOS Games End of Year Jam.

DOSRocks, a fun little Asteroids clone written in QBASIC and running under CGA mode (with one of its cowardly dark color palettes as opposed to an ear-searing bright one). It's very much the kind of program you'd find on a shareware CD or if you bought a random 286 with functioning disk drive. Easy to play and a nice little time killer.

Voxel Island, another 3D tech-demo like the previous video's 3D Free Roam, this time focused on voxels rather than polygons. It's quite pretty, and it too has more to discover despite its lack of anything specific for players to do. Oceans, volcanoes, and hills dot the landscape and convince your parents to invest in a brand new 486.

Lastly, Vanish5+, a feature complete puzzle game about moving squares around a board to form lines of five or more identical colors. With every move you make, a few more squares are added to the board making it only a matter of time until you run out of valid moves. Another fun little game that I began by saying "These are the kind of games I got stupidly into as a child" before getting stupidly into it as an adult.
